FAQs

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers!

  • Hold your horses! You only just got the save the date! Formal invitations with RSVPs and even more information (can you believe it?) to follow.

  • You can get there in whatever way you like. We recommend flying but plan as you please.

  • Rome. Milan may be cheaper at times but it’s a terrible airport and you’ll still have to make your way south to Umbria. If you wanted to fly from Milan to Perugia airport, you could do that if you wanted to but come on. Do yourself a favor and fly into Rome.

  • You can really do whenever you want here. The sweet spot for booking flights to Italy in July tends to be between January and February of that year. That said, keeping an eye on Black Friday and Travel Tuesday deals that the airlines are releasing in late November would be smart. Fare alert engines (Google Flights, Hopper, Skyscanner) are your friends here and will help identify the perfect time to purchase and notify you when the price drops.

  • You can absolutely stay wherever you like, but we’ve included some of the best hotels we’d recommend within the Accommodations tab. Booking options can be found there, and if you still have any questions after reading through it, please just give us a call — or come up to us at the next family or friends gathering. We’ll be happy to help!

  • If you’re planning to stay in Spoleto, we recommend booking your hotel early! The city’s annual Festival dei Due Mondi (Festival of Two Worlds) will be in full swing while we’re there, a wonderful celebration of art, music, and culture. It’s an incredible time to visit, but also a popular one, so rooms may fill quickly.

  • Please check out the Travel tab for more information.

Depending on the need / how many people are traveling from Rome to Spoleto on July 7th we will likely organize a shuttle to bring you to Umbria. If you’d like to travel there on your own, we would recommend renting a car (make sure it’s automatic unless you’re feeling lucky) or taking the train.

  • The dress code for the wedding is black tie. Please don’t roll your eyes.. you’re lucky we aren’t doing white tie.

  • You’ll have to wait for the formal invitation to find out!

  • We realize how much effort you all are putting in to get here and we are so grateful for each and every one of you!

We figure many of you are turning this week into your summer vacation and you may still have a few extra days left to travel. We will most likely be heading to the coast to spend the remainder of our time swimming in the Mediterranean.. it is July after all. Feel free to join us!

Otherwise, there is so much of Italy to explore. Who knows? Maybe you decide to stay in Umbria and take advantage of the incredible wineries in the area and book a stay with a pool overlooking the countryside. That sounds wonderful too! As we mentioned earlier, there is the Festival of Two Worlds taking place in Spoleto during this time, as well as the Umbria Jazz Festival just north in Perugia.

Or you’ve just had enough and need to get back home. Follow your heart where it takes you!
